What Do You Need for Newborn?

They are small, but they are extremely needy. Newborns not only require your utmost attention, they need just about everything under the sun. From big items like a crib to everyday utensils like nappies, it takes a lot of merchandise to handle your little bundle of joy.

For new parents who want to prepare well but don’t want to buy out the entire store — and please don’t get carried away with all those nappies on sale — here are a few suggestions to shop for before bringing your brand, new babies home.

Buy a sturdy crib that has passed all safety requirements and a firm mattress with a fitted mattress cover. Make sure the crib has adjustable height so when the newborn grows into a toddler, the mattress can be lowered.
To keep newborns feeling like they are still in the womb, get a few blankets to swaddle them with. Swaddling comforts them and helps them go to sleep.
Also, purchase a mobile and a white noise maker. Babies love falling asleep with repetitive shushing sound and soft music.

Purchase a changing pad with a strap to keep your baby still. Also, stock up on necessities like cheap nappies, creams, wipes and hand sanitizer.

Make sure you have plenty of bottles, bottle warmers and the correct-sized nipples for your little one.
If you plan to breastfeed, always keep some formula on hand just in case.
Also, buy a breast pump so you can pump extra milk supply in case you are not around for feedings.

Even newborns need to play. Playing actually help babies’ brain develop. Keep a few colorful toys around such as stuffed animals or plastic shapes. Let your babies practice their hand-eye coordination by grabbing and looking.
