Learning to say NO

To be able to say “NO” is of crucial importance. If you can say “NO” you will probably avoid certain awkward and conflict situations and feelings. Although it may seem difficult to reach to a stage where you can say “NO”, it is important to get there soon as possible, because without this “ability” circumstances can lead us to many embarrassing situations or even lead us doing something we really do not want or simply can not.
Let’s try with the following tips which are actually very obvious and helpful in avoiding stressful situations. Learn to respect and to treat people like they deserve it, expect that for yourself from others, too. Do not try to be the most gentle and docile to handle. You should never, for any reason stay silent, you must always express your feelings. You must be firm in your responses, if you set boundaries early on and express what you don’t like, you will most likely not have to do it twice.
Don’t make excuses! If you don’t express what you feel, you will just postpone the problem, it will still be here. Do not follow those who are demanding in achieving their goals, take the reins of your life, nobody else has that control but you. You must define your place in the world in any event, and stop doing things for others which are bad or hard to you. You are the owner of your time and your stuff. You must set limits, as this will prevent you to explode with anger in unexpected moments.
Learning to say “No” is something that will ease many difficult situations with which you have to deal in life. This little word, carries many positivity if you know how to use it. -NO because today I can not.
